The best sort of boat, someone elses.
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

I have been on some great and some terrible charters over the years.

The weather can be a real determiner as to what sort of day you have and there is little you can do about that. Some of the things you can, and I have learnt the hard way, is to do some homework.

Some locations are really affected by tidal movements, times when there are really big tides can dirty up the water and put the fish off the bite. Most good charter operators can tell you when is the best phase of the moon to fish.

Did two charters out of Hamilton island. One my cousin organised to work around his work schedule which was a disaster and we caught bugger all and the second one which the same charter operator advised us of was a cracker with us getting sick of pulling in Red Emperor, coral trout and GTs into the boat.

The last few years we have been going to Wallaroo in South Australia on snapper charters and the skipper we know tells us the weekend to go. below is a result of doing homework and listening to the experts.

Anyway any day on the water is a good day but if you are catching bigguns it is even better. Hope you have a great trip

You can get treatment for that..

It will happen another time... and you'll love it mate...

A bad day on the water is better than a good day in the office.
