    Snapper

4am to Carrum (Port Phillip Bay)

Nothing doing at sunrise. Moved out a bit. lots of little and one big flat head before one 4kg snapper followed by a very friendly seal who happily took any bait of the bottom for us.
Fish for dinner was nice. Bed is looming

Nice mate. Plastic or jig etc or bait? What sort of boat do you have?

    Cheers

One fish took squid I think, had pilchards, fresh flathead and squid strips out. Older 5m glass boat which doubles up for tuna at times over winter but sadly sits in the garage far to often.

Few if anyone had fish at the ramp so happy to have a nice feed. Might try Mt Martha or Williamstown next week. Decisions

I've been having terrible luck in both westernport and ppb this year. Yet to bring in a red, where other years it's no problem 6kg plus 😢

I usually join you in the luck effort while fishing in Vic in Port Phillip. WA or Portland results much better for me.

Was going to go to Westernport or even to Corner Inlet. Might try again saturday night with the kids. They bag out all the time the ungrateful sods

Just booked our snapper charter or Wallaroo South Australia today. Looking forward to getting among the 10kg range in late February.

Checked with the skipper who runs the charter and he picked the dates which have the best tides and moon for February.

Last year we had to go on set dates due to work and consequently missed the best days tide and moon wise and therefore only got smaller fish and low numbers. We spoke to him the following week when the good days were on and told us the charter he took bagged out both days on some monster fish.

This year bugger work we are going on the right days.
