When I was buying my new rod the other day,I asked about the casting weight and how much you can exceed it.
I seemed to get the same answer from all that seemed to know what they are talking about.
The recommended weight is that, what the manufacturer considers what will give you the best casting distance for the rod. They all said the rods will handle much more but wont cast as well, some added if I chucked a 4oz star sinker and snapped the rod, dont try and claim a warranty job
I picked up some 36 and 45gm weights today, they aint very big
Yes I have changed to a new fishing style Im yet to try.
A BRAVE NEW WORLD!!!!
Hoping to do some casting on the oval on the weekend.
