sushi time.jpg Two per person so I caught just 3 and let the last one go. Funnily the other 6 on Salty Dog Charters Port Fairy with me did not seem as keen the 2nd time up. One or two of us happily wanted more and we did see a VERY BIG barrel in the water busting up the bait fish among Shear-waters (Mutton Birds), Albatross, Gannets, Seals and Dolphins which we used to target the school fish in this pic.

15 to 20kg only so my PB of over 80KG Blue Finn remains intact.

6 Blue Whales just 100 metres from the boat was a huge highlight for me. I may have seen them before with out knowing exactly what they were. I can pick Sperm, Humpback and Southern Right whales normally. Dan the skipper knew them and said they usually come though in April. FYI "The blue whale is the largest animal on the planet, weighing as much as 200 tons"

My 6 were a lot smaller but a lot bigger than most whales I see.

PS Weather was forecast as unfishable for Sat, Sunday and Monday. I decided not to take my boat due to that. The Charter was Friday the only day possible to go fishing. 6.30am for about 10 hours in a boat far bigger than my minow

I am already out of Tuna! Planning another trip in two weeks already IF the weather is suitable
