That is a good catch, and looks like the weather played along too!
Went out for calamari with swmbo on Sunday. A bit rough but settled down into a beautiful sunny day, quite flat and the squiddies played the game.
One for the memory banks. We fished off Clifton Springs in Port Philip Bay in 3 metres of water. I love catching squid, they made a great tea and the bits left over make good bait next time out chasing whiting, flatties and leatheries.
Anyone else go out over the long weekend ?

Martin

Hey Echidna, have you got a recipe you'd care to share.
I have just been cleaning them and slicing them into rings which are dipped in beer batter and deep fried, very nice but I wouldn't mind trying them cooked like that.

Martin
Soak the rings in milk.
Mix up rice flour, salt and fresh cracked pepper in a plastic bag.
drip dry the squid then hoik into the plastic bag and shuffle till coated evenly.
deep fry till golden (not too long or it will toughen)
beautiful.
