    Smile Epirb

    Heya all,

As you would all know the new e-pirb law kicked in (in November).
So I have to buy a new one. There are so many on the market, I was told not to go for the GME. What would you reccomend?

    Cheers Cal

Feb 1st 2009 is when they switch off the 121.5Mhz Satellite - although aircraft will still listen to 121.5Mhz for many years as it will remain the international emergency frequency. They'll still report any beacons they hear.

Cant remember he just kept babling on and on and on... so I switched off. When I woke up all I remembered was No to GME.
    Not much help I know.

Ive had a strong pull towards the RB6, everywhere I go they are sold out 2 so thats a good sign.

Got the Pains Wessix RB6. Seems the right price @ $499 with a free battery replacement! So 5 years with the battery in her then another 5 when we get the replacement. Sweeeet 10 years hassel free. Hopfully we wont need to use it either.

GME 403G $699 with the GPS,can't see the point in not having GPS when there is only about $200 difference.
Standard version range is accurate to within 5 kilometers radius ,GPS version as little as 30 meters and when your in the drink I know which one I would rather have.
With the GPS version the rescue service now have the ability to go straight to your location in any weather condition with pin point accuracy ,lets hope that no one needs it but any little cost extra to minimise the risk to yourself or your passengers it is worth it.
    Battery life is 6 years.
    cheers Mickey.
