It is a sign of the rapid recovery that the lake is going through.

You would be suprised at how how many sharks are in the smallest of creeks!
One of dads mates has cought afew in this little creek near us that is only open to the sea during flood and very high tides.
it isn't very deep either, the deepest spot in the whole creek is only about 6-8 feet
if everyone new about bull sharks in pretty much every creek and river you wouldn't get to many swimming in them

Bull sharks will and this will be the most common breed found in the lake though there will be others as well. The netted areas around the lake have become a lot more popular since the first sightings a couple of years ago.

When the lake flooded over its banks last year my brother was a bit worried about walking around his backyard in Belmont in case they were lurking about - the water as about 3 foot deep. When the water went down he found a few bream in his yard.

No one has been attacked so I guess everything is still OK.

damm, stuff that im worried about the damm lake now, never even thought about sharks in there, i have a bit of a fear of them which is why i stopped surfing and bodyboarding, maybe i should just get one of those electronic things they made for surfers that deter sharks

This is what happens when you protect species from fishing/hunting they populate...lol.....bring the Indonesian fisherman down here for six months and they will cull the numbers back to zero

Off Murrays Beach (Cams Wharf) about 3 months ago, I fell off of the marlin board of a mates boat . I was back on the boat no more than a minute and a small whaler shark surfaced next to us. It probably heard the splashing and came to see what all the noise was about. I've seen them out there while trolling for tailor too.
    Cheers,
    Anthony.
