    Mandurah Fishing

    Hi Guys
Went crabing sat nite south of the cut using a scoop net.Wandered around for an hour or so getting 12 legal size crabs.HUNDREDS of small ones so it looks like next year should be a very good season.
Went fishing at the Dawsville cut last nite, dissapointing.Strong wind at our backs and a big tide coming in,too strong a cross current to enjoy.Only a couple of blowies and small herring caugt.
Got an awsome display from a dozen or more dolphins,at times there were 3 in the air at once, right in front of us.
They say just getting out and having a go is better than staying home, have to agree.

I am keen to do some crabbing - if you are willing to let me in on the location...???

I only found out recently that crap pots/dillies aren't legal in WA. Very strange. I am surprised you can get so many with a net.

    Hi Ben
    No licence needed.
10 crabs per person bag limit.
You need a babys bathtub(or similar tub) wich you tow behind to throw the crabs in,a wire scoop net and a gauge to measure for legal size.
Its a great passtime, get a scoop net for everybody going, basically you just walk in the knee deep water scooping them up,measure and put it in the tub.The gauges and scoops are available from most camping/fishing shops.
We went to a spot called Island Point Reserve,10ks or so south of the Dawesville Cut.You can go anywhere where the eastury is shallow, morning and afternoon are best but you can do it all day if its not too hot.
    ENJOY
