An electric motor is also worth considering
We have a freshwater one that we have moded to run in salt, it's great, the battery lasts all day!!
And it pushes the canoe along quite nicely. and you can't even hear it it's so quiet

Most big water sports retailers should be able to give you info such as Mainpeak and Snowgum in WA. BCF and even most decent boats shops. Look for a canoe specialist supplier, not just a reseller.

weeds, i have two canadians with outboard mounts and a motor if you want one, i only want to use the electric now and have no need for the petrol outboard.
you are welcome to drop in and see them and see my set up,
i also have both fitted up with outriggers so i have somewhere to store more stuff and less tippable.
