I have it on good authority that dogs can be successfully used to chum up sharks and crocs.

marlin and spanish off the headland, plenty of reds available to small boats on the close reefs (check the reef fish annual closurure dates), Plenty of jacks ect in the creeks either side of 1770, queenfish, flathead ect in the eustaries.
Good barra up the road at awonga. Been travel from tassie every year for the last half dozen years for my annual dose of fishing realality. Gotta love the place.
    cheers

It's half way between Gladstone & Bundaberg (head towards the coast from Miriam Vale).

Nice place but not sure about dogs though. However, I'm positive you'll get a reply from someone more local than us.

Ring Captain Cook Holiday Village, Seventeen Seventy Ph: 07 4974 9219.
Warning if you come today there is a severe weather alert. We have 190 mm of rain in 3 hours today around Bundaberg and there is more to come
