Bass and trout here too, although only a relative beginner. Now getting ever closer to retirement so will be looking to do more when possible. Oh, I also like catching and eating Yellowbelly (Golden Perch, Callup) from our western rivers.

That's a pretty good effort of 'hands up' guys
I'm sure there are lots more members out there that don't post often on the forum but also enjoy freshwater fishing .
I also teach 'Fly Fishing' if anyone is interested in that side of the sport

    Hi Kev
A write up on fly fishing would be great.
Never tried it,but have watched a few masters of the art cast, its good to see.
Really enjoyed that Rob Stitch show on the ABC,A River Somewhere.Great fishing, scenery and comedy too.

Try and learn how guys -it is great fun. Then when you have mastered the basics try nightime fly fishing. Total black night and black flies - a real winner. And the golden rule is - The blacker the night the blacker the fly.

I don't mind a spot of flyfishing for trout. Hence the log on name . Get to tassie as often as I can and down to northern NSW on the occassional long weekend. I love fishing small streams and dont mind if the fish are small so long as the scenery is good. Parking the landie by a stream setting up the tent and getting a fire going with a coldie in hand is heaven for me. I am defintely not a good fisherman. I am happy if a get a couple of fish on a trip and are just as happy to watch my fishing mate putting in the effort and catch all the fish .
