Hi Guys
Chas showed me a rig I hadnt seen before, called a pulley rig.
It works as a running sinker would so once a fish is hooked the sinker moves up to the main line away from snags, combined with an Impact clip on the sinker it is quite a compact rig to cast.

In Chas' rig the breakaway shield is replaced with the Impact clip, when the rig hits the water the hook is released without tangles

This is the bead swivel used on the main line.

These rigs are designed for use in broken ground and shouldnt snag as easy as a weight that remains at the bottom of the line.
Will be testing them later in the week.

Pulley rigs are awsome!!!
I fished the same rocks I usually fish in Albany and only lost 1 rig to the rocks.A quick flick of the rod seemed to free the rig with ease where normally the rig would be lost.
Combined with the Imp Clip the rig delivered soft mulies(pilchards/sardines in other worlds) to the water intact.
I was very impressed.
