From what I've seen there very good you get all the stuff you need including sweeting an flavouring agent, so you can make sweet dry or draught all from the one pouch

If you want to make an easy cider I strongly recommend Oztops.
Oztops - Home
They work an absolute treat. I got on to them after I got sick of spending so much buying fresh juices.
You can turn pretty much any type of store bought juice in to decent cider within a week. Even the home brand 3L apple juice can be used and you don't even need a fermenter, you just use the bottle the juice comes in.

Give the cider 2 Months in the bottle.
It's hard, I know. When I did my first batch, I sampled it that often, I had run out by the time it was good enough to drink.
Another good point to make with the cider kits is to make sure you get the cider in to a secondary fermenter as soon as possible to try and stop the yeast before you bottle. So when you hit your FG syphon the brew in to another fermenter and leave it until you get a couple of days with a consistent gravity.
The champagne yeast they use in most of those kits seems to just keep going and will spoil the cider if you leave it to long (about 4 months in the bottle and the cider start getting a bit vinegar like and way over carbonated). I tried a few different methods to stop the yeast like cold crashing and campden tablets but I kept getting the same result.
Also, you should give hard lemonade a go, very easy to make and is something a bit different.
