    A bit of smoke

A few weeks ago the head gasket blew on our 4BD1, coolant disappeared into the cylinders none got into the oil.

I had the head skimmed and tested, all OK, I reinstalled using a Genuine Isuzu gasket and Hylomar goop.

Today is the first go at restarting the motor, there is a small amout of white smoke still coming from the exhaust pipe and crankcase breather.

Here is a link to see what is happening. [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uo7EQ_ZRfB8"]YouTube- 4BD1 Smoke[/nomedia]

    Anyone got an idea?

Why did you use hylomar with a genuine gasket?

I was advised to use a smear of Hylomar around the central water jacket hole of the gasket (this is where the head gasket originally failed) by one of the mechanics from one of our truck customers, he's old school and hasn't given wrong advice to us before.

I found my compression tester this morning and will be doing a compression test after modifying the end for one of the Isuzu glow plug holes.

I install my gaskets dry and clean. The only time I've used sealant with them was to try and get more life from an already failed gasket.

    Are your radiator hoses pressurising?
