    4BD1 valve clearances

    Further to my earlier question

Is there a generality as to whether valve clearances increase or decrease over time and use ?

Well, they can decrease due to valve seat recession / wear caused by excessive KM or dusting of the engine... or they can increase due to wear in the valve train.
I have adjusted my Izuzu ones only 3 times, and IMHO was almost unnecessary. 0.45mm from memory. (Edit: 16 thou , .40mm, is factory spec)
