Where are you Mike?
Someone might be persuaded to give you a drive.
Cheers,

Thanks for all the info.
OK - here's my list so far then:
1. PAS pump seals per Isuzubobs tutorial
2. Engine front/rear crank seals
3. Gearbox oil pump drive
4. Clutch will be replaced unless it looks really good.
5. Turbo/intercooler are in the plan, but not sure if they will make the initial fit.
6. I reckon the crank bearings will be OK - as Kaa45 pointed out its from a Landy so not worked hard. Will pull a couple of caps and inspect/plastiguage them to confirm while the sump is off.
7. Already have spin-on oil filter assy - just need to fabricate spacers to fit it.
8. I'm going to leave the injector pump alone apart from checking the inline filter in the banjo fitting.
9. Starter seems original so will be stripped/inspected/greased etc.
10. Alternator looks good, but I'll look into whats involved to give it a quick birthday.
11. Will check the temp/pressure sensors.
12. Will also pull the water pump and replace the gasket etc and check out the thermostat.
I need to do a bit more research on what to look for in the gearbox.
Will also find out more about the provent.
Steve
Check the spigot bush for wear.

If you do go down the Turbo path, it's easier to build and fit your header pipe while the engine is out, or at least while the front guards are removed. Also, you need to reposition your crankcase breather, run an oil feed to the turbo etc etc.
These things can be done with the engine in, but it's just a lot easier when it's on the floor/stand.

Definitely want to try and get the turbo done at the same time but depends a bit on funds as I go along. Hopefully it all works out as it will be the simplest way rather than having to re-do exhaust etc later.
I cant see where your crankcase breather is in that photo. Being a factory turbo what is the difference compared with a NA engine?
Steve
The turbo engine breather is on the driver's side of the rocker cover. I'm not sure what other's have done to relocate the N/A breather for a turbo conversion, although I'm sure it's been discussed before.

Thanks. I've just read quite a few threads on what to do about the breather when doing a turbo conversion. Not sure its really made it any clearer though other than it cant really stay where it is.
Think I'll park it for a bit and come back to it later. Maybe the tax fairy will bring me a Provent :p
