I bought the red one from Melbourne. Has been sitting for a decade on the POs nature strip. Lots of rubber and plastic needs replacing. Still drove alright back to Brisbane. Only one tyre blew out at 110kmph.
Having real difficulty getting it through a RWC locally in Brisbane, one mechanic refused to accept that it had a Isuzu engine from new and wanted to fit a mod plate for it.
Does anyone know of a RWC guy in Bris that actually has some idea about the vehicles?
Land Rover may be able help you. I think they can supply paperwork stating what the vehicle was originally fitted with. All they would need is the VIN.
But overall I agree mechanics are mostly ignorant about these vehicles. You should try and get one that has camo paint on it through RWC. I got told by one mechanic that there was no engine number so it could never be registered. :no2:
