If that was in Vic I'd buy it at the price asked.

It's a late model 'T' engine, so potentially a nice upgrade for someone.

Ebay engine I'm guessing - 1990 turbo block.
    Rangie engine looks ancient.

How can you tell the ebay engine is a turbo block. What I can see is what looks like a na truck engine. It has the bigger breather, and the turbo drain hole, but the later na truck engines had this as well, and the water pump doesn't have a turbo nipple. Am I missing something.

    You're probably right Brian.
I didn't know any of the NA blocks had the turbo drain - thought they were turbo block only.
Comparing it to the turbo truck motor thats also on ebay, the rocker cover on the bare engine isn't the same as the turbo engine either...

G'day Steve, Both na truck motors I have had including the one that's in there atm have the turbo drain fitting. I am guessing but I think the truck motors had this from about '88 onwards when they fitted the alfin pistons. Pretty sure the rocker cover and breather is the same except the one on ebay doesn't have the accoustic cover fitted.

Sorry, I meant the ebay engine. I never bothered to look at the rangie, and didn't notice the post that appeared before mine - I presumed my post would follow directly after the 3 or so posts about the engine.

I wasn't aware the later NA engines had the turbo drain and same breather from the rocker cover, so you may be correct.

Although the water pump doesn't have a nipple for the return from a water cooled turbo, the tapped hole that the nipple screws into, is there. Maybe the NA engines had that as well.
