Mine is my only driveable vehicle, but I work from home so I don't have to commute in it.
When I was a kid the only vehicle we had was an 86 Isuzu County and my Mum drove it to the shops, preschool etc as needed.

Not exactly - it is my "town car", and I drive a 2a round the property on a daily basis, mainly because it is aute, where the 110 is a wagon. But although not a daily driver, it usually does the 120km round trip to town once a week. Did from here to Melbourne and back last November and last month, and eighteen months ago did here to Perth and back. Since March have done here to Yass and back twice and while there commuted into Canberra.

I use mine as an everyday vehicle :) and have enjoyed every minute of it . The County is my work vehicle, a weekend off-roader, most of the time it gets used also as a family wagon while the "Ford Territory" sits redundant :D
Only trouble being a work vehicle is that it's normally full of builders junk and rubbish !! I hope one day to restore the beast and take a bit more care of it though.
It's a great reliable vehicle, I've covered 75,000 kilometres in under two years and have only replaced uj's,bushes etc. I'm now wondering about servicing the engine :D (480,000 +)
Went off roading with a pootrol at the weekend and I'm afraid to say certain sections could not be done by the shiny pootrol..........better stop now ;)
My daily driver is a 1985 County station wagon with 4BD1 turbo (currently for sale). It is soon to be replaced with a 1985 County station wagon with 4BD1 turbo (if I ever get it finished) :D
Guess I have a bit of a one track mind, but when you find something this good, why change?
Thanks for all the great feedback, I've gotten back some quotes on repairs and had some PM's from some very knowledgeable people off the forum.
I think my only reservation now is that it needs to be fixed before it can be driven.
Thanks for all the advice, the Isuzu's certainly are awesome units but I have weighed up what was on the martket and best suited me and bought a tdi300.
Cheers
Sure have, old man has a 300tdi defender and it tows the boats around Australia beautifully - 2 on the trailer 1 on the roof.

But I am confident the Isuzu tows better, but the 300 will do what I need it to
