The problem is the CAV item has a glass bowl. While it is thick glass I wrapped mine in rubber while I had it fitted which defeats the purpose. I have since done what others on here have done, and built a hybrid filter/sedimenter using the CAV filter head and the Aluminium CAV sedimenter bowl. All you need is a longer centre bolt.
