aircleaner to suit 4bd1t in rangie??

Just wondering what those have done aircleaner wise that have a 4bd1t in a classic rangie. Did you mod the standard rangie aircleaner, or is there a better option?

The standard rangie air cleaner is too small. Even Tdi air cleaners are larger than RRC/V8 ones. You should fit the largest air cleaner you can. You may need something like a M+H compact plus or donaldson powercore.

I made my own casing for a 100 series landcruiser element. But there has to be an easier way.

    Air cleaner RRC-Isuzu

Donaldson mounted on top of the l/h inner guard. I'll get the element number for you tomorrow.

I'd like to find something more compact, this one is currently restricting my choice of turbocharger. Not quite enough room for two of them.

    The ad says 145 cuft/min. A 4BD1T at full steam needs about 450 cuft/min.

so i'd need one 3 times that size. Its a third larger than a v8 one, and i reckon not much different to a county 4bd1 in size, may'be a different filter could be fitted? Could take the second element out

I picked up a Donaldson style one like the ebay link you posted from a truck wrecker in Melbourne. They had a pile of aircleaners about 2m high and this one just happened to be at the front. From what I can tell its got the same size element as the one that was fitted to the Isuzu 110's, with an 8" outer case.
Being off a truck it has different mounting brackets etc, but its a steel case so not a problem to fix.
    Cost me $50

    Steve
