Thread: Supercharged/Turbocharged isuzu

I forgot to add, you can see the crank pulley I had made in the pic, its 12 inches in diameter and 10 ribbed, I also converted the harmonic balancer to 6 rib serpentine belt. The V belt setup wasnt the best setup in my opinion and since I had to eliminate the stock power steering pump I decided to go to serpentine belt. The stock p/s pump wouldnt clear the large supercharger crank pulley and it wasnt putting out enough volume for my rack and pinion steering and hydroboost brakes anyway. I am currently making the brackets for the supercharger and all other accessories. I had to set the supercharger lower than I really wanted since I am also making a much larger and improved intake manifold to help get roughly 70 psi of boost into the engine.

This will be interesting! What are you using for a drive line? The torque that thing is going make will screw most things up big time

Your lucky to have a diesel specialist that can set the pump and injectors for you. I cant get mine right in stock form. It starves for fuel at 2800RPM at only 12psi.

Which way did/do you send your pump Tony ?

Have had two attempts Once in Orange the other Tamworth. Its out of their leads this sort of thing.

If it's who i think it is in Tamworth, they have helped me a few times but after a couple of conversations I've wondered too.
Unless it's specifically in a manual/fiche or a Nissyota it's all too hard.

All you need to do now, Carcrafter, is put it all together, and get the Ford replaced with a Landy.

LOL I am actually planning on swapping a small diesel into a buddies land rover soon I dont think this thing would fit with all the added extras lol.

For a driveline I am using a ford 5R110 5 speed automatic transmssion from a 2005 ford F250 diesel truck. I have a custom converter and a few upgrades in it so it should be good for around 700hp and easily handle my isuzu.

I need to post some pics up of the adapter, you guys may find it interesting. I have completely done away with the original isuzu flywheel and flywheel housing and made my own custom flywheel and engine to transmission adapter plate out of some very thick aluminum plate. I am using a factory ford diesel flywheel ring gear and starter to turn the engine over. Doing all this was alot of work but I shortened things up several inches which is nice since I can push the engine back those few inches for better weight distribution and I shaved quite a bit of weight off the engine itself with no cast iron flywheel housing.

Here are a few more pics of the actual finished aluminum brackets for the supercharger. I am using thick walled stainless steel tubing for spacers.
