    Last Isuzu

Was it 89/90 that the last Isuzu was built at LRA in Moorbank NSW. I know they were mainly white ones and a few red and blue ones. They had the county stickers on the doors at an angle.Dont think they had turbos though.Anyone got some pictures they could put up.....

This is a 1990 model 110 which belongs to JamesJ on here (and previously to D3Jon).

Note the smooth roof, defender doors/handles, colour coded grille etc. It also has the defender rear seat which is higher than a county seat.

No 4x4 models came with factory turbos - only the 6x6.

    <snip>.....
Just on a point of accuracy, It was JRA at Moorebank - "Jaguar Rover Australia".

Land Rover Australia (LRA) was created by Ford's Premier Automotive Group (PAG), subsequent to the demise of JRA Moorebank.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Late 110's don't have Defender door handles and Defender rear seat........the way I see it, Defenders have late 110 door handles and rear seat.

I reckon the gray diagonal County stripes look the best of all the County/Defender stickers.
Mind you, I'm probably biased, as Mum bought one new in '89, and was the daily drive when I was growing up.

I was told (3rd-hand) that they only made about 10 or so for the civvy market in '89. They were relatively expensive then, or at least the price had risen sharply, I think wagons going for about $44k new.

Couple of pics from the about the time it was sold, had less than 150k on it too.

    110 CSWs went from $22k in 1984 to $44k in 1988!!!
RRCs also doubled in price - $33k to 66k. The resale value of 1984/5 rangies actually Increased! (but not 110s). However now people have seen sense, and isuzu 110s are worth more than mid 80's RRCs...

Quite true - however the defender arrived in 89/90 in the UK - did the doors arrive before or with the defender there?

Push button doors came in 1987 - so Defender adopted the 110 doors - same would apply to the smooth roof. The only real change that coincided with the change of name was the change of engine to the 200Tdi. And there was a distinct break in Australia, with the 110/130/Defender not sold for two years.

    Actually....

LRA at Rydalmere was formed under BMW when they bought L/R from BAe, long before Ford acquired L/R from BMW.
