    Cool

I reckon they (JRA) mixed and matched whatever bits the Poms sent over, which is kinda nice, as every vehicle is individual. The older stuff was better quality, though.

Mine is 86/87 (built 12/86 on the tag but registered as an 87 model since new). It has galvanised PAINTED cappings, lift up door handles, no roof vents, the old rear seat but the soft-lidded cubby box (which I swapped for the hard one as the original wasn't in the best condition).

Yeah, mine are painted too, but a mate has an early '90 Isuzu 110, with painted steel capping which rust like Defenders. Weird about the rear vents, hey!, I'd like some old doors.

I guess I should have qualified that by saying 'civilian' Landrovers, and you're welcome.

Land Rovers Model year starts in October, hence your build date of 12/86 will be a 87 model. Rover Parts website has the breakdown of model years and the vin identification. Cheers Dave
