    4BD1 welch plugs

Having had issues with corroded/leaking welch plugs on other vehicles in the past, I was thinking about replacing the one in the rear of the block while I have the flywheel housing off.
I've had a closer look, and the plugs definitely aren't steel (they're not magnetic). Possibly stainless?

Anyone had issues with Isuzu welch plugs leaking. If they never leak I wont touch them.

I haven't had any issues with welsh plugs at all. My first motor did 750K without any problems and have 13K on my new one. Haven't even heard of anyone have problems with them. If they are the stainless ones, I wouldn't touch them.
