    oil spec's

Dose any one know if putting a monograde 40w oil into the 4bd1 would cause any problems. Some of you may know I am in the Army as a mechanic, well I found out today that they are changing the oil to a monograde 40w oil, I am abit dubias to whether or not it is a good idea.

It'll be fine, a bit heavy maybe in really cold starts, to the point that the cold oil pressure could be a bit high, (+60 psi isn't unusual for these engines cold using 15w40) so try not to thrash it cold....) MAY also require a bit of extra CCA to crank it cold, but I doubt it'll be an issue for these engines. Mine still starts before I even turn the key...
