    Suzi Dump Valves

    Can anyone elaborate on a suitable dump valve for the suzi please?

    A few questions...

    > What is recommended and is selection influenced by the size of turbo;

    > Where is the most appropriate place to fit the valve (post compressor); and

    > Are dv's advantageous to all setups or only "high performance" types?

    Appreciate your comments

    Cheers Joe

    There is no need or benefit to fitting one on a diesel.

    G'day Joe
    I will get to your PM, maybe send me an email add or mobile no so I can send a pic of the turbo/filter set up.

    The turbos fitted to these motors seem to max out at about mid twenties psi. The 4BD1 seems to cope well with this level of boost. I intend deactivating the wastegate actuator and removing the overboost safety valve.

    Same here
    I have disconnected the wastegate on our turbo (TD5 Garret) and it is happily running to 20psi max. Just fine tuning the fuel/EGT ratio. I find it runs much smoother throught the huge rev range

    X2 Revs smoother, much more power, lower EGTs.

    Done the same this morning. The biggest improvement is at the high end of the rev range.

    At 100km/hr up to about 80* less but around town a bit higher higher EGT. It was only a short drive down to the Port.

    i am also running a gt2052s (td5 garrett turbo) i had the wastegate actuator wound fully closed (now it is off and i have a bracket holding the gate shut) and i would cruise at 60kmh hit the right foot and 120kmh was upon you before you know it 24psi is max i was getting out of it now i have a gt28 i am considering running it on a universal flange i am making so if the gt28 isnt what i expected ill go back to the gt20... also Dranged will probably find this as well while running these smaller turbos when i back off it sounds like it "blows off" like a wrx anyways especially when running a pod fillter and 3" straight through

    Ditch that pod filter. They're really just a pod, they don't filter.
