    As I have stated several times on here...

    I have had my turbo fitted for about 80k km now. The engine is getting up towards 400k km.

    That includes 3 trips across the nullarbor, CSR, gibb river, etc etc etc. Plus plenty of weekend trips thrown in.

    The first trip across the nullarbor we had 4 adults plus a full load of gear on board. Sitting on 120 across the nullarbor into a strong headwind the EGTs were 650-700 most of the way. I had to keep reminding one of my mates to back off when the EGTs got up to 750. All that was about 60k km ago, the engine still doesn't use any oil between services.

    I also would like to state that I have been wrong about these engines in the past I now have to say they are one strong engine and fun to drive ! There is also no such thing as a hill that slows you down either I usually find myself overtaking new patrols and new cruisers on hills with ease

    Yes - it is amusing to see the look on their face when an "old landie" overtakes them.

    Haha yep I also find sedan car owners doing double takes when a landy is sitting beside them on a hill I also get "you must have been in 4th (i have a santana box unfortunately ) flogging it up that hill like we are" from mates with turboed 4.2's and they are shocked when I say "nah its only a matter of 5th gear and feed it some right foot"

    Do you have any fuel figures from the Nullarbor trips? I've just completed this trip with my dad in his Patrol (3.0L TD) and with a reasonable head wind and poorly loaded roof rack we were achieving about 15l/100. On the way back to Perth (different route thank god!!) we were achieving about 13l/100 with the roof rack load adjusted and only minor cross winds. Would be interesting to see how it stacks up to the Isuzu.

    IRC best was just under 10, worst was almost 14. I think I posted the economy on the first trip in one of the isuzu fuel economy threads on here.
