The factory 4BD1T's had a small oil separator for the blowby gases located near the rear of the motor on drivers side otherwise drop the sump and look for piston oil squirters. The fuel pump also has a boost compensator on the back of it.
Hi guys, i bought my 1985 isuzu county nearly a year ago now, and i was told by the previous owner that it is a factory turbo motor out of a truck.
How can i find out if this is true as i want to start modding it and would like to know wether Ii should be looking at 500degree exhaust gasses or 700.
It has 4bd1 stamped on the side of the block. Do the factory turbo's have 4bd1t stamped there?
Thanks. Andrew

Follow the oil drain. If it goes into a factory cast boss in the block then it's a factory turbo motor. Otherwise it's not.
Thank you fella's. That is some weight off my shoulders its a factory turbo. Now for some modding!
