It's about 10 years ago when I had to remove the swaybar to fit a new fuel tank. I don't remember having to jack anything up.
Hi
I want to remove the rear sway bar and put new bushes in it. Does the rear diff need to be jacked up at all to take any weight of the bar or is it just a matter of undoing the bolts and letting it drop to the ground.
Thanks

Makes it worse with ANY load on the bar, best to drop the bar in situ at rest height, and replace all bushes at once.

Hi
Thanks for that. will give that a go on Monday when i finish installing the air bags.![]()
when the car is sit flat there is no load on the sway bar, as JC said undo from the chassis end first then from the axle housing.
Where the bar links to the axle housing is a taper fit, so may need a light knock to unseat it.
