Has anyone managed to set up a hand throttle on a 110 for the Isuzu yet?
My idle speed is perfect when warm but the usual rough when cold.
Someone suggested fitting a hand throttle to set until it's warm and then release
Pete,
You might be able to use a choke cable off a V8 County. They twist to lock in any position and would fit the original spot on the right hand side of the steering column.............as long as you don't have a 'pull stop' for the Isuzu as that would most likely be in that spot already.

The 85 NPR (4BC2) that kicks around here has a manual idle adjust. Wind it in and out to set your idle speed.
I really should have a better look at how it's hooked up. I think it's just changing the upper stop on the accelerator pedal. Cable turns too easily to be going far.
hey
my isuzu county has the hand throttle adjustment on the right of the steering wheel. isnt this stock?
the cable runs to the throttle body the same place where your throttle pedal cable goes and you can adjust there for your idle should just be a a couple of screws.
is that what your are wanting to know?

Thanks Guys.
There is definately a quicker and hence , smoother idle when warm.
No manual pull to stop fitted to mine , just the normal power off , fuel shutdown actuator.
Fred Smith told me that rough cold idle was normal in an early 4BD1.
Simon , that is exactly what I'm after and I don't think it's standard on a Civvie Isuzu County . Don't know enough about the Mil one.
I think Danny is hinting that he wants some of you to take some pics of the set ups you have seen.![]()
G'day All, My 110 has a hand throttle, it was an optional extra, I cant do any pix as the 110 is 85k's from home, from memory it's not much more than a choke cable and it goes down and is fitted to the throttle pedal, at the first chance I will take a snap of it, cheers Dennis
it is great when your way out west on flat ground,,.
Has anyone ever fitted a Handthrottle to a Puma?
This would give me a little more adjustability with the heat-exchanger / shower.
ok mine must have the optional extra.
and i had a check and the cable runs to the throttle assembly in the engine bay. i may take a photo tomorrow and post it.
im sure it wouldnt be hard to find one at a landrover wrecker and install in to your bus.
