    Smile Got a MSB 5M gearbox

    So as the title says. I have brought a MSB 5m gearbox and now the work will begin. Have to still pick it up from Benalla which is a bit of a hike from my place. But all worth it once it is all made to fit the Landy. Still to hunt down a transfer case. Those I`m guessing are a tad easier to get. Will be good to have that extra gear.

    Was that on ebay a while back? Its from a isuzu 4bj1t, not as strong as the MSA boxes

    The MSB is the lightweight. Used on the 4JB1T as Vern said but also the non turbo 3.3 litre 4BC2.

    Well good to know that it was used with the 4bc2. That motor is a later motor than mine but has exactly the same kilowatts and torque as mine. So hopefully will do the job. There is only .3 of a ltr difference. Mine being the larger one.

    If so you'll be fine. But I wouldn't want to subject a MSB box to an angry 4BD1T.

    Well I have the gear box now. Had a bit of small talk with the bloke selling the gear box. The motor that the gear box was attached to was sold to a Adelaide owner of a landrover. He was going to marry a landrover box to it. Should keep him busy for awhile. Gear box is a striaght bolt up to the motor. Have to get a fine spline clutch plate. Gear chage looks simple enough to adapt. Will be mostly enclosed too. Rover clutch slave cyinder fits, so all good there. Need to get the transfer case now.
