    Disenchanted 300tdi owner

    Howdy all

    Some fascinating reading on the windfalls and issues with 4bd1t engines. Has anyone considered or successfully done a 4bd1t install into a late Disco 1?

    My brother has a 4BD1 / R380 in a Disco 1. There loks to be enough room to fit a turbo (next years job perhaps).

    Sounds encouraging, any more details? I'm seriously looking into this ive also located a 4bd1t with only 125000ks on it, and the price seems reasonable. Only prob is my car is 300tdi and auto combination. Also problems of rego as this is my daily driver.

    300 tdi as a lot hidden away. and a lot the goes missing over time.
    valve clearances very important.
    inter cooler, 500 bucks from Adelaide turbo exchange. and 150 - 200 bucks for a rolling road tweak. ad to that dgas which is next to fee after you get the center link check.

    makes a good little rocket ship for very little outlay
