    *sigh* Here we go again...

    Look what i found.....

I can't seem to get the auto out of my head....

Isuzu 4BD1T swap part II : now w/ A440F auto

This guy is very clever, what a simple solution!

And THESE fellows do an A440F with lockup in 3rd and 4th gear, along with uprated torque converter etc etc....http://www.automatictransmission.com.au/

Its the toyota box. Not quite sure why he did that the Auto fitted to the ford f350+ series would have been my choice.

Hi Simon! They are out of HJ60 and 61 cruisers, prior to 1992 they were hydraulic control with lockup 4th, and fitted behind the 2H and 12HT and first of the 1HZ and 1HDT had the A442F, still hydraulic then after 1993 I think were electronic controlled. At least thats what i have gleaned from searching around.

i'll ring them Monday and see what comes of it.

IIRC all those 4spd F series boxes are full electronic control? I think he is thinking like me, K.I.S.S.

The Aisin Warner boxes in the turbo Cruisers have a very good rep for longevity and strength, so here's hoping....

Few years ago I came across a Holden WB One Tonner with 4BD1T and Allison trans. installed. This was a labour of love and more of a custom street machine than a workhorse. Wheelbase had been extended quite a bit, a crew cab fabricated using Holden panels wherever possible. All legal with Qld. Mod Plates in a row under the bonnet, and registered. Wish I had the camera with me. He wanted $40,000. I doubt if you could duplicate the job for that.

Well 2 ways of doing it, adapt the LT230, OR use a constant 4x4 case from an LC80 and fit Marks crawler low range gears..that would be the easiest but no park brake drum etc...

I will make some calls tomorrow if I have time and see if it is $$$ viable.
