    Aircon compressor brackets etc

I'm currently gathering parts to fit an A/C compressor for onboard air.

I picked up a 4bd1 compressor mounting bracket from a truck wrecker, but its a fabricated part which mounts the compressor very low and it fouls the engine mount
Were there any genuine Isuzu brackets from trucks that will work in a County, or do I need to get hold of the landrover bracket?

From the wrecker I also got the bolt-on drive pulley for the crankshaft - and when I tried to fit it found that my ex Stage 1 engine only has 2 mounting holes in the crank pulley, and the drive pulley I got has 4 holes
I'm guessing that 2 bolts wouldn't be strong enough, so I will need to get hold of a crank pulley.

Does anyone have a part number for a crank pulley that they know has 2 holes - or one for a double groove pulley?

I've already got the alternator bracket that mounts higher than the Stage1 did - is there anything else that's going to catch me out???

You can get the AC bracket from a Commodore - VN rings a bell but I can't remember exactly. They were less than $20 when I was doing my A/C.

I currently have my AC pump off fixing a bad clutch bearing. My setup is I believe modified NPR truck. The top mount pivots, the bottom mount I think was originally fixed with a seperate idler pulley but has been modified to give a slotted bracket similar to an alternator mount.

Tell me what you want pictures of, I can take them today.

Any chance you have a photo of it around somewhere Flagg?

A couple of general photos of the mount brackets would be great Dougal. Something that shows how high up the block its mounted would be useful too.
Are you running a bolt on pulley on the crank, or a twin/triple groove pulley?

Mine is AFAIK JDM factory NPR setup which came with the engine. Single alternator and waterpump belt, bolt on pressed steel pulley driving the AC compressor via a second single V belt.

Here is a CAD picture I've posted before, probably on 4btswaps.

best if the compressor is solid mounted and another idler for the adjuster.
factory bracket also used the engine mount bolts to spread to load.I have used brackets similar to the picture but with trucks the compressor is close to the chasis with outer lugs cut off.
some had rear hose cyl head. like the 110 that came undone when you adjusted the belt.

they normally used 2X 11A section belts and needed 13A belt.
this reason i would think it needs a good mounting pulley drive that is fixed using machined face.2 bolts as a drive will work but normally you expect the crank bolt and washer to hold the pulley as well.4 8mm thread bolts are the norm.

most of the landrovers ive repaired the belt tensioner had fallen off so I made up bits.almost all was slightly different but i only remember 3 types used when i woked for land rover.

I used a double pulley idler that was small dia.these need bearings replaced ever few years.some had back idler to push in the belt-this gives more rap so the tension is less and should last longer.

most of the freezer trucks had bracket made from 2 plates welded with a generic mount lugs welded to it.
bolted to the 4 threaded holes in the lower block side.
2 front casing bolts.these use a spacer and longer bolts.
without the front plate the bracket flaps.its common to replace brocken bolts and cracked bracket.
many had a simple cut plate bolted to the compressor lug ears.
unfortunatly some use the inner lower lug requiring spacers to be welded in with several length bolts.

FFR with A/C bracket is what you should copy [cast] landrover had a dead block in the yard from an early test vehicle to that the block let go.

Sorry guys I was thinking the pully, not the compressor mount
