Isuzu Rangie Front suspension system
Just a question for the Isuzu Rangie gang.
With the old V8 weighing in at 144kg and the Isuzu at 338 kg is that too much weight on the front end steering/suspension systems causing them to thrash out?
What sort of rebuilds or upgrades need to be done to make them suitable?

Thanks Damien
Doesn't chew out any of the other front end components like bushes , swivels tie rod ends etc?
I may be buying a Rangie with a similar engine swap of a different brand
The owner has been very up front and stated that the front end neded a rebuild.
That could just be an old Rangie thing anywa.
Just wanted to know if the front end was getting a rebuild if any suggested mods should be done

My one went through some radius arm bushings early on, but they were probably poor quality bushings. It now runs poly bushings in the radius arm to axle mounts and has had no issues.
It's simliar extra weight to carting around a fat passenger and a winch.

Front end mods
Pete
Other than upgraded springs and shocks, I have converted my swivel housings from 6 bolt to 8 bolt. If your running the later 7 bolt diffs you should not have a problem. It also depends on wheels and tyres as well. Dont forget about unsprung weight .

I'm running 180lb/in HD springs, can't recall the length, with monotube koni 30-1426 from an 80 series landcruiser and longer bump-stops. The 80 series must run some pretty heavy springs as they are wound right open with the 180 lb/in springs.
