Exhaust Manifold off with AC fitted?

Is it possible to remove the exhaust manifold with the AC unit refitted?

I am just about to get the AC/ Heater unit refitted and also trying to coordinate the rebuild works.

It should soon be going ( but that could be delayed for some time) to get the minimal amount of rust cut out and at the same time we were thinking of heat treating / heat wrapping / ceramic coating the manifold.

I would hate to refit the AC/Heater unit and then find out that the manifiold can't come out without removing the AC /heater box.

    Pete

I removed heater box with crowbar and hammer however yea the exhaust manifold can be removed Turbo manifold is smaller but both can come off only little trouble you may have is bottom left bolt hits on vacuume pump on alternator but you will figure out how to get around that...

No worries... That's assuming you are talking about standard heater arrangement from the 110's ? I would try and retrofit a defender setup in there personally.

Oh and also I'm interested to see your finds with the ceramic coating as I will be looking at getting this done once I make a custom manifold one day ...

I am talking about the full banana box , monster heater/fan/ac coil unit set up from a 110.

Exh manifold still okay to come out??

I would go a Defender heater box also to facilitate a later fitment of a 4BD1T motor or at least the turbo to mine.

Problem is that for $ 2500 the aircon man guarantees nice cold air out of the in dash system and reook up all the heater anciliaries and get it all going again?

If I went down the Defender heater road, then ac would have to be a seperate retrofit item and I'd say lots of $.

Well in my case I could remove the standard and turbo manifold whilst A/C in if you find it difficult I suggest getting some penetrine spray it on the studs and all the places where the studs enter the head it will work it's way down any cracks do this every day for a week and then remove studs then your right to do anything!! The turbo manifold requires smaller studs or bolts as the thickness is smaller on the turbo manifold compared to the NA one.

The defender setup is more robust even having it mounted in the cab I find the original one flimsy and takes up a lot of valuable space but that's easy for me to say because I drive it once every blue moon!
