Thread: Oil Leak - Vacuum Pump

I posted up a P/n a couple of months back. Think it was JDNSW that asked. I can't confirm if the number is 100% correct but it should give you a place to start.

I got a price the other day from Isuzu parts place based on "vac pump oil feed hose for 1987 NPR59 with 4bd1" and it was about $110. Decided to get Pirtek to make me one for $70 but it's been a bad decision as ive found the banjo fittings they used are slightly larger and thicker. Im taking it back to them tomorrow. Be mindful of this if you get one made.

I'll be buying a genuine one if Pirtek can't sort it out.

Banjo bolts are 10mm diam and the banjos are about 10mm thick (bit hard to measure as mine is refitted now).
Hose length is 265mm between banjo centers and the banjos are approx 90deg to each other.

The genuine one will only fit if you have a genuine alt.

Mine was different.. Took me a couple of goes to get it right*.. I got a new hose from Pirtek for $30, but it only needed to be short.

*Was pretty lucky as it was only an hour and a half walk each way. The second time I even had shoes.

im no help with genuine part as most of my car is modified but i got mine made by a mate who works at hydrulink and his problem was finding a banjo of the same thickness matting surface (where the washers but against) but he found ones that done the job so he made it out of 6000psi rated hose as it was blue and he said he thought i might have wanted something appealing i got it made a tad longer than standard as you can never have enough length

Thanks for the reply. Completly missed that other thread. Aftermarket wise all Ive found is speedflows -4 AN 10mm banjo fitting, will -4 AN be large enough.

Chief you dont know part numbers to the fittings you used?

Unfortunately no I did not get part numbers but as long as the bolt fits nicely through the banjo and 2 washers either side you will be fine...as for speed flow I highly recommend there components as I will be running everything under the bonnet in speed flow

I went through this some years back. I ended up with two threaded banjos and two threaded barbs to fit them.

It works but those were the most expensive fittings I've bought to date.

Just got my genuine hose today after returning the dodgy one that Pirtek made up for me last week. Usually they do a great job, but in this case they didn't have exactly the same end fittings, and what they provided was just a poor fit and I wasn't happy with it.

Price for the genuine hose was $105 (P/N 8941590481).
Not cheap for a short hose, but I figure the original one has lasted for 30 years (and still OK) so this one should see me out, and I know its the right one and it fits properly. Even comes with a heat cover which the original didn't.

I'm still running the original alternator, but have a 70A chinese cheapie from the USA and the hose fits that too.
