Im running 1.113 high range with 33" rubber and doing about 2500 at 100kmh. The 0.996 gears have a greater tooth angle than the 1.113, this causes large amounts of side thrust on the intermediate shaft, creating lots of heat. The std gears run on needle roller bearings in plastic cages, these can melt and block the oil galleries in the intermediate shaft. The 1.113 gears have straighter cut teeth, dont create the side thrust, but are noisier.
If you are going to use the 0.996 gears they need to be the tapered roller bearing set.
