The easiest way is to pivot the lever fore/aft above the selector rod with a tail protruding lower which does the push/pull. This does however increase the height of the lever significantly and would require a re-jig of the side/side lever mechanism.

There are many more complicated ways to retain the low height and reverse the fore/aft swing.

Here is my MSA-5G setup. This has the Allegedly Austin Allegro shifter linkage grafted in. It pivots on a ball where that white paper towel is and the tongue of the lever below pushes and rotates the selector rod.
Similar concept to AM's. But his execution is far far nicer.

From left to right, on the mainshaft the first selector is 4th (move selector forward), 5th (back), next selector is 3rd (forward), 2nd (back), last selector is 1st (forward), reverse (back).

If anyone is interested in the MXA6, see pic below. Same configuration except 6th is in the rear extension housing.

I think you meant 29mm x 21 spline.

I used an Exedy clutch to suit an Isuzu NPR59, 4/89 on. 300mm od, 29mm x 21 spline.

ISK 6533 for clutch kit - since then Exedy have bought out a HD kit to suit.

ISD 134 for disc (included in kit)

The throwout bearing for mine was a 2226 (some use a different arrangement).

Thanks for the info I am not sure how they measure clutch hubs but the OD of the spline is
27.75mm or 1.092" in proper measurements give or take a couple of thou.measured by a
bush that is a slide fit over shaft

I got 29mm x 21 spline when searching for a clutch plate for my MXA box.

The only other size is listed as 25.5mm x 24 spline. so there is no mistaking which one I needed.

BTW, I have a 4BD1T from a truck, and the flywheel is different to what is found in Land Rover 4BD1's. From memory they use a 275mm clutch, where mine is 300mm.

This pic is a copy and paste from the Exedy web site and now lists 3 clutches (standard replacement and 2 button clutches).
