From the information on this site:-

    http://www.vislandrovers.nl/extra/re...versnel.php#v7

With 48/31 teeth on the high range gears then it looks like I've got a 1.113 ratio.
AFAIK my LT95 (15C serial) is still in standard build for the 1982 Stage 1 Isuzu.
Maybe there was a compromise build for the Aussie version in between the 1.34 and .996 ratios.

Mentioning an LT95 is always like opening a can of worms (literally)

How can you say that unless you owned the vehicle from new?

It seems they fitted a few 1.113s at the factory. Maybe when they ran out of 0.996s. The rangies probably had priority on the assembly line.

Thanks for the fast replays and information.

is there different ratios for the overdrive?is one over drive stronger then the other'does anyone know what ratio would be in a Isuzu county with lt85 from factory?

There is currently only one lt95 overdrive (fairey). The LT85 5-speed came with 1.003 high range in isuzu trim. Though many of us run 1.22 or 1.21 (discovery) ratios.

    Hi isuzurover
Do you run the 1.22 for more torque or strength or for running bigger rubber? Do you run the 1.22 in lt85 or lt95?

    Regards Brett

Firstly I should clarify that the LT95 gearbox has an integral transfer case. There is no 1.22 LT95 transfer ratio that I am aware of (though there is a 1.23 AFAIK).

The LT85 5-speed, is bolted to an LT230 transfer case (same as the LT77, LT77S and R380 5-speeds and ZF 4-speed automatic fitted to other model landies).

    I fitted a 1.21:1 LT230Q from a late ('98ish) discovery behind my LT85. Note earlier discoveries had an 1.22:1 LT230T.

I fitted it mainly as the original 1.003:1 LT230T was getting a bit tired and leaky, and I thought the lower ratio would help on an upcoming canning stock route trip (it did). I run 33" tyres (255/85-16).

I have been happy enough with the ratio change to keep it - especially as I have been doing more towing these days.
