Yeah getting a bit of smoke when laying the boot in. Will give it a bit more fuel and see how it goes.
I have another boost gauge so can plumb that in somewhere as well.
Will look into the temp probe thingy. Surface mount the probe or put it in the intake?
Screw is out 4.5 turns now, getting a little smoke but not to bad, egt's about the same, seems to lack top end in the first three gears, won't pull away from down low in 4th and 5th either. I need to take it for a better run, bit hard with no rego to go to far. May be I'm expecting to much, its been a while since I've driven one.
Now I'm thinking of ordering the 22psi spring, and if I want more boost just wind the actuator in. Am I in the right ballpark? (Current spring is 7.3psi)
Definitely get a stiffer spring. I just checked mine (still in the box) has 1.5, 1,7 and 2.0 bar springs.
A 7.3lb spring wound up to provide 22psi boost is probably bound up tight and can't open the gate.
If you're at 4.5turns with minimal smoke I think it will be going pretty nicely, and you could be right about expecting too much. If you're not sure, wind it back in to the NA fuel setting as a comparison
I reckon just get it running solid and clean for engineering/rego, and you can play around with tweaking it later once its on the road and you can load it up properly.

New spring ordered![]()
Yeah your right Steve, I have quite a few things to fix now. Going off topic here, but I need to fix gear shifter, lhf window is jammed, temp gauge not working, transfer shifter shifts in reverse, horn, smashed rear door glass, find stock tyres, find firmer stock sized shocks, get hand brake working, but worst of all, remove front diff as its leaking
, badly
.
Anyway, it does feel like it goes and/or will go great with a bit better tuning.![]()
One step ahead of you AM, have a 94 Niagara land rover here with plates, am sure they will fit my 94 Niagara range rover nicely. It just won't be here this weekend though
