Captainslow, do you have any numbers off that red seal?
I have the NOK brand seals in my engine and the crank is speedi-sleeved. The work fine if everything is perfect. It takes very little to make them weep oil though.

From memory, when I fitted a sleeve to mine I measured the crank at exactly 100mm. I asked for a 100mm Speedy Sleeve at my bearing supplier and I think it ended up being an SKF one he gave me.Quote:

Genuine Isuzu wear sleeve (thicker than speedi-sleeve) and larger seal (standard from 6bd1).

The Redi Sleeve was part number N99393 from Statewide Bearings and cost $27. I'm pretty sure it was a 100mm.
The rear main seal was part # 5096250520 from Don Kyatt at $36.
This is the old ISUZU part number.
Supposedly the new ISUZU part that supercedes this is 10966254020 and this may be the double lipped variety - but I couldn't confirm this. ISUZU said they had one in stock but when I arrived after a gazillion km drive they found they didn't have one (and the quoted price was $133+gst).
The seal has held up ok for 15k - but then you'd be pretty disappointed if it didn't.

That's some good information, my crank has a good groove in it but was not leaking with the seal I removed so just put a new one in place.Quote:

It looks like the right way to fix the issue.
To me its a job I don't want to take a chance on as its a lot of work to redo if it leaks again. Not sure how much people have been paying for speedi-sleeves, but the last sleeve I bought in a much smaller size was about $40 anyway so while the Isuzu one is dearer its not over the top.Quote:

It's a dribbler. I have battled trying to get it leak free for ever. Sometimes it'll stay good for a few months at a time. I suspect these seals just can't handle much at all crankcase pressure.
I've replaced about 3 of these seals and decided they only seal if everything is perfect.

All Isuzu and Don Kyatt seem to stock here is the genuine (NOK BH1295E) seal.
