I would not worry about it seems your being a tad over anal

My county only gets started and run about once a fortnight and the oil light stays on for about 5 to 10 secs its the norm the presure has to build enough to cut it out

If it was on for 30 sec or longer then you have a problem otherwise its all good happy isuzu'ing

Studies have shown that in most engines it takes ~30+ s to get full oil pressure everywhere in the engine. That is not a 4BD1-specific issue.

if you have the inverted canister filter it can also be caused by the check valve leaking thats supposed to keep the filter full.

    Any advice on fixing that?

Mine stays on for about 8 seconds too, using RX Super and the painful upside down canister filter.

Why fix what is not broken

The painfull upside down filter has a drain underneath so you can empty it before spining it of so you dont get covered in oil

I am making a remote mount for the twin spin on so i get longer oil service and a better spot to undo the filters and not need to make the spacer so they clear the front shaft

Convert to the truck twin filter setup.

I have the upside down filter and I swear mine only takes about 2 seconds for the oil light to go out. If it was anywhere near 10 seconds, I reckon I would remember that as it seems like a long time. 30 seconds I would have concerns until I read this thread. Unfortunately I can't tell you what oil is in it as I haven't changed it yet!
