    6 Speed Allison.

Allegedly there are stand alone controllers for these. We're talking the same 6sp auto fitted to the duramax. 840Nm and double overdrive.

Anyone keen? [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allison_1000_transmission"]Allison 1000 transmission - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

Not for me, I'm quite happy being in complete control of which gear and when. But it might be useful to the others.

The idea is good.... Having driven autos and powershifts in trucks and tractors I love them. Contemplating the Cummins 6bt in a 101, and a fancy auto or powershift would be great behind it... These boxes are silly money tho are they not?

New I'd expect so. But there must be a decent number of used ones available ex USA. Afterall, they salt roads over there.
