Thread: TRB Intermediate Shaft LT95

Hi

I am looking for information regarding how much preload is required for the taper roller conversion for the intermediate shaft for the LT95.
The TRB I have uses 6 taper roller bearings with hollow shaft and a bolt through
the shaft to set preload.

The preload is set by the spacer under the inside plug. These come in many sizes. Set it up in the vice before you install it in the transfer. Torque the bolt to 125 ft/lbs and see if the gears rotate freely but with slight resistance. Use a smaller shim to tighten the resistance or a larger to decrease.
