    Front Springs

I know this has been covered fairly well but this is abit different .The engine is about 25 kg heavier than a 4bd1 but the center of gravity a fair bit aft with timeing gears -PS pump-and starter at the back off the engine also the engine is set back 140mm .There is a larger radiator and intercooler. The vechile is a 110 with 40mm raised King springs in the rear (normal duty) steel bullbar possibility off a winch later on . I am thinking of KRFR 03 or 03 HD both 30 -40mm higher or KRRS-02 (Rangerover2"higher) Anybody care to comment?

    Thanks AM

I would not lash out and buy coils untill you try a few

I have a set of rear rangie/disco medium rate so up to 500kg load in 2 in longer and they work out to gain about 50 to 60 mm lift in the front of the county

I currently have them in the back of my tdi disco and they are not quite tall enough as i have HD defender front lovels in 2in raised in the front and they are a bit stiff but ok for my needs .

If you would like some coils to try and play around with let me know i have a good selection here from rangies and discos and i have some rear county/defender stuff too

Timing gears and PS pump at the rear- ie near the firewall? Is that right? Why? How? Why? Please the suspense is killing me...
It _is_ some sort of modified 4BDI? Am I missing something? WT...?

If possible, get it weighed and give Lrautomotive.com.au a call, they will roll you whatever is suitable (and Andrew is knowledgeable enough to get it right).

I agree with Lokka - get hold of some and try them before lashing out for new.
Should be pretty easy to get hold of since they are same diameter as the D1 rears.

I'm really happy with the ones I've got in mine. I've got a bullbar and winch with synthetic rope.

Supposedly about a 30mm lift on an Isuzu landy, or 40mm on the back of a D1: http://www.dobinsonsprings.com/docs/...df/LAND-53.pdf
I fitted extended orange poly bump stops from Paddocks as I calculated that they would coil bind before hitting the standard stops. There's enough witness mark on the bump stops that I know they are doing their job, but I've never felt that "geez that bottomed out really hard" feeling that I used to get with the D1.
Front axle weight on mine was ~1500kg last time it was over the weighbridge.

Too dark and wet outside now, but if you're interested I can measure the bump stop clearances and post them up.

I'm using factory heavy duty NRC9448/9449 defendr 130 front springs, 4bd1, steel arb bar, 12,000lb winch and plasma rope. ride height and quality is perfect. rides better than a disco

I had those springs fitted to mine nrc9448/9449 with nothing extra up front and the ride was good but they made the front level with the rear (with the rear empty) so any weight in the back it didn't look right.
I'm now using nrc8044 springs which are standard defender front springs and it has lowered the front and looks right but they are too soft, you don't have to hit much of a hole to hit the bump stops!
I need to find a middle ground spring, standard height but not too soft and I'm struggling!
