    Alternator pulley?

Probably in the wrong section here but it is Isuzu related.
Where would I find a 'B' section belt size alternator pulley to suit a 17mm straight shaft??Anyone

Not standard, but a option. A industrial supply like black woods. A pulley with a taper lock centre. Just got to know what diameter you need. Also does the shaft have a key way? If so, easy enough to get a taper lock with a matching key way.

When I changed my alternator, the pulley from the 24V alternator (4BD1T from an Isuzu truck) was 'B' section and had a 17mm parallel bore and no key. I swapped this pulley onto the new 12V alternator in place of the 2x'A' pulley that it came with (meant for Nissan).

So maybe you could try truck wreckers, or auto electricians.

That's exactly what I need John as I have a Nissan alternator which as you know has a straight 17mm shaft. The standard Isuzu alternator has a taper shaft which is a bummer.

I recall seeing B section single pulleys on early Toyota Land cruisers, 2F engines in particular. Failing that, many Bosch alternators run two piece tin pulleys which require little more than a spacer to make them wider. I've also sharpened a pointy HSS tool bit to recut cast iron pulleys when needed.

I've just done the exact same thing yesterday. Aluminium pulley from Porters Industrial Supplies. Just needed to bore out hole to 17mm and cut key way.

    Pulley Brian sent fits perfect.
Sheldon, just wondering if you come across any of the air on pulleys and bracketry?

Air con bracketery? No not really. The ones I have come across are all too low from the truck engines and hit the chassis in a landrover.

Its actually the pulleys I'm after, as in, the double 'A' belt pulley that bolts to the front of the balancer, and the idler pulley and bracket the bolts to the lower right hand front of the engine.
If you see any then can you grab it for me.
    Cheers
