Hi All, just thought I'd share my experience as it may help others if you make the same mistake.
Basically when fueling up on the weekend, I stuffed up and put premium ULP in the poor old Landy. Luckily it was about 3/4 full so I only put 17L of ULP in, I noticed it was the wrong fuel when starting to fill one of the jerry cans I had with me, filled the rest with diesel...
I admit I was probably a bit gung-ho but I had to get back home to rescue the babysitter from the kids, so with stories of the good ol 4BD1 running on vegie oil and all sorts of stuff, and knowing that it was not a highly sensitave common rail enging, and knowing I only put 17L out of about 75L, I pressed on the 40km to home watching the guages like a hawk. It sounded and drove as normal, only difference is the engine temp may have read 1 degree higher.
Once home I found all sorts of info, lots on this forum about. Apparently in very cold climates they actually mix up to 25-30% ULP to stop waxing of the diesel. So again I was probably a bit lazy for not draining the tank, but as my mixture was about 25% at the servo I've simply been topping it up with diesel as I go. Have done over 200K now so the diesel ratio is much better, and still drives as normal.
Cheers, Andrew

hi, Andrew, a friend of mine did this recently. He called RACQ and the guy mentioned that the fuel may separate when left to settle because diesel is heavier than ULP....good luck
There is quite a few other threads on here of people doing the same. Up to 20-30% IIRC and none of them have reported issues. Just sayin'.
Also, I'm glad I own one of these engines.![]()
More than 50% and I'd think about draining it for dilution.
