    Pto winch

    Hi all

I have recently brought and fitted a pto to my lt230 transfer case in my Isuzu 110 but I'm having a bit of trouble getting the drive shafts to clear the bellhousing. If anyone has a pto winch could you please take a photo of where the shafts runs and where the shafts are mounted to, it would be really helpful.

    Regards Brett

    Winch Pics

    Hi,

Please find attached some poor quality photos of my PTO winch set up.
I have an LT230 with LT85, factory isuzu with Superwinch/Fairey PTO Winch.

Let me know if you would like some better photos or perhaps a photo of something in particular.

    Regards,
    Cameron

    Hi Cameron
Thanks for the photos but the problem I have is that the shafts for the maxi drive pto have to go over the trans mount rather then under and there isn't very much room between gearbox bell housing and chassis. I like your set up? Do you have many problems with it?

    Regards brett

I cut out new scallops in the aluminium flange so as to swing the unit down so that the shaft run under the gearbox mounts. Worked a treat and took less than 30min to modify.

My Thomas PTO for LT95 isn't long enough to have the shaft below the transfer. Mine is from a Rangie and meant to go above the transfer.

I fitted a Rangie Thomas PTO to my old County. Just a case of tin snipping/ grinding the corner of the transmission tunnel & making a small hump moulded with lead to allow the shaft some clearance

All fitted now.i made up dummy shafts from curtain rods and a few different brackets until I found a setup the worked. Haven't tried it out yet but I may have the scallop out transfer mount and body mount.

I think I tried to move maxi drive pto into a different position but I think the unit was to short to allow the drive shaft under the transfer case.

Now the fun part starts, trying to fit an exhaust.

    Regards Brett
